The short answer is yes it is possible to pray away an affliction, or something that makes us different from others. God is all-powerful and He can make anything happen.
God answers all prayers. The difficult thing for us humans is that sometimes His answer is no. God is beyond human reckoning and He has His reasons for saying no. When you go to heaven all things will be explained and you will know why things happened the way they did. But you’re not there yet so you’ll have to wait for His answers.
What then can you do? Well you can pray for those things God almost always says yes to. What are some of these prayers?
- God give me patience.
- Lord give me wisdom.
- God put someone or something in my life so that I can be a channel of your peace and love.
- God out do my generosity.
- Lord help me get through this situation and remain in your care and love.
God made us the way we are for a reason. He doesn’t want us to change to conform to any human standard. He wants us to change so that we line up with His standard. Jesus gave us our mission:
“Love one another. As I have loved you so you must love one another”. (John 13:34)
I fall short of this ideal every day but I strive to try again and fulfill my mission the best I can.
I encourage you to pray. It really does work. You just need to pray for those things that God says yes to. Put it into practice and you’ll be amazed at the results.
